On the 22nd of February, 2013 in the International Exhibition Center in Brovarskiy Avenue in Kiev, the public organization "International Union of landscape creators" held a model seminar "Man, landscape and architecture. How to rich the organic unity. "
The reports were made by Luigi Fiumara (a well-known Italian organic architect, a chairman of the International Forum "Man and Architecture» (IFMA), a member of the Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects, Honorary Professor KNUBA (Kiev), the author of many projects carried out in Italy, Switzerland, India, Romania, Russia, Ukraine) and Helen Bulavko (organic architect and designer, founder and director of the architectural studio «Living architecture» («Giva Architectura") Switzerland-Ukraine, co-founder of the NGO FLAU, author of architectural and landscape projects).

The main subjects are innovations and international best practices. This seminar is some kind of response of professionals to the challenge of the time. The members of the leading non-governmental organization in the field of landscape design confirm that they are in power to do it!
Participants got an opportunity to gain the practical skills of alternative method of visualization and presentation of the landscape project in a way of carrying out a very important for every designer information about the harmony between a man, landscape and architecture...
The event was attended not only by the residents of Ukraine (from Kiev, Lugansk, Lvov, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Vinnitsa, Kremenchug and other cities), but also by guests from the other countries. Alla Klapkova, who is a representative of the Association of Professionals in Landscape Industry in Belarus and a landscape designer, came from Minsk not only to attend the seminar, but also to meet the leadership of the "International Union of landscape creators" organization - with the purpose of learning about the successful work experience of the Union and searching for the options for further cooperation.
Lectures and presentations of the speakers were focused on the possibilities of applying the principles of organic landscapes in an urban environment, interaction and connection between building, landscape and the "spirit of the place."
But the main highlight was a master class! For the first time in the framework of such seminars: the participants were allowed to work independently! By way of a creative task organizers invited participants to work on the modelling of the landscape with the help of clay - that is a unique method in a landscape design!
As it turned out, this modern and alternative method of designing became a real discovery and a highlight of a seminar, and for many students - a progressive breakthrough in learning. With the help of this progressive method, designer and customer, who only start their cooperation in making newly projected 3D-model, can realize almost all their desires and wildest fantasies in relation to this project. In addition to that, a landscape designer has an opportunity to demonstrate his professionalism in a full way.
Master class gave an opportunity to see the principles and methods of working with the clay as an alternative method of modelling and visualization of landscape projects. The basics of live-size working-out of volume and architectural forms were learnt, considering interrelation between the model and the surrounding landscape. Each student had an independent practical solution - he modelled the situations with the help of the clay, considering location, relief and cardinal direction. The main objective of the conducted master class was a development of complex organic landscape solutions by the example of a given territory. The task was successfully achieved by all the participants; some of them finished their work only after the end of the time allowed for this. The interest and the enthusiasm of participants are the greatest gratitude and reward for the organizers of the event. All the 60 participants soaked theory like a sponge, asked questions, work with clay with a great pleasure, carefully listened to the comments of the professionals, who analyzed their work, and were looking forward to get the final "mark" of their design solution.
Also, one of the seminar opportunities was to have a live conversation with representatives of a well-known Ukrainian garden centers and transplant nurseries. "Nature Trade" Company, "Cornelis" transplant nursery, "Grinmart" garden center, transplant nursery of "Biosphere-L" company, "Green Eden" transplant nursery presented their video presentations to participants of a seminar in order they could have a look at assortment of products, and respond to the actualness of new planting material of season 2013! All the participants were given a unique opportunity - to be the first auditory for the presentation, which was oriented on activities and product range of a new member of the "International Union of landscape creators", and as for now, an official representative of the IULC in Italy - «VIVAI PALANDRI»... Speaking by the arising in the course of the seminar fresh business ideas, joint business projects and emotions of the participants - all went with a bang! All guests who participated in the seminar received personal certificates, positive emotions and communication pleasure, new knowledge and skills in the field of landscape art.
