On the 27th of April 2011 on the official invitation of China management, the delegation from Dnepropetrovsk has visited the World Exhibition of landscape art - World Horticultural Expo 2011 in the twin city of Xi'an.

The official delegation has included the Head of the Department of Culture and Arts of Dnepropetrovsk City Council and the representatives of three companies, working in the field of the landscape design. I have got a unique opportunity to be among them, and also to lay out a detailed program for our delegation. The opening ceremony took place in the fashionable hotel Kempinski.

On the official dinner in honour of the twin cities we have got an opportunity to meet, get acquainted and share new information with the participants from France, the USA, Japan, Korea, Sweden and other countries.

Our delegation was also noticed by the foreign colleagues - during the official dinner I was representing the international public organization "International Union of Landscape Creators", the registration procedure of which was completed in a few days prior the event. In the relaxed atmosphere booklets which we have prepared were handed to the participants. These booklets contained information about the mission, goals and objectives of our Union, which are very important to define and convey at the current level of establishment of the Organization.  It should be noted, that the representatives of the foreign delegations showed a keen interest to the received materials, they asked many questions and demonstrated their approval.

Representatives of the delegations from twin cities of Pau (France), Nara (Japan) and Xi'an (China) also have presented little gifts to me.  We sink into the positive and good-will atmosphere.  And today, thanks to the effective work on the preparation of the materials and successful presentation, negotiations with the foreign counterparts on further cooperation in the framework of the Union are held.

Of course, this is only the first, a little bit informal presentation of the International Union on the world stage. I sincerely believe that in the nearest future we will have many meetings, negotiations, business, friendly visits and joint projects with our foreign counterparts. After all, we have many common goals and objectives such as: creation of environmentally persistent, healing and balanced landscapes, as well as their continued preservation, restoration and improvement of the environment, promotion of innovations in the field of landscape art and many others. But also, it is very valuable and symbolic that this small, one of the first steps, was made at such an important and large-scale event in the world of the landscape industry - World Horticultural Expo 2011, the World's Exhibition of landscape architecture in the city of Xi'an.
