First time in Ukraine!!!

At the 28th of September 2013

in the Fomin Botanical Garden in Kiev a seminar and a practical master class will take place.

The title of the seminar is "Modern rockworks - the completely new approach to the creation of rock gardens of the 21st century"

 Conducted by the European master of his craft Robert Rott (Slovakia)

Organizer: PO «International Union of Landscape Creators» http://iulc.org/

Place of conduction: Kiev, 14 Kominterna Street, Universitet metro station

Time of conduction: From 9 a.m. till 6 p.m.

The interest to the rockworks and rock plants among the members of the «International Union of Landscape Creators» is not a new and occasional one: In May 2012 a tour to Check Republic with a visit to the private gardens of collectors of alpine plants took place. The impressions of what we have seen appeared to be very strong and when we got back to Ukraine we understood that the rockworks became a kind of copyrighted brand in the field of landscape construction for many designers - namely, in terms of recreating of the mountain landscape. Now we can confidently say that if you see these rockworks lively, you will fall in love with them forever! After travelling to Check Republic a new idea has appeared in our mind - to invite foreign collectors of alpine plants and rock works professionals to Ukraine in order to conduct a master class, to develop an idea of alpines of different kinds and to learn more about the possibilities of cultivation even on a very small areas, to gain knowledge and skills in building and equipping of rockworks.

One of the professionals in this sphere is Robert Rott (Slovakia) who is a landscape practical designer, breeder, nurseryman of alpine plants, a member of the club Alpine garden Society (England) and Czech Republic Alpine Clubs in Prague and Brno and an organizer and participant of many different expeditions.
Alps Mount Elbrus, Ararat, Pyrenees, Dragon Mountain (South Africa), the Balkans, the mountains of Iran, France, Croatia, Bulgaria - all these places were visited by Robert Rott in order to find rare alpine plants.

Only at our seminar you will get an exclusive possibility to learn first-hand about:

  • the history and origin of rock works and reasons for their popularity;
  • different kinds and types of rockworks;
  • step by step construction technology of different kinds of rockworks;
  • the most appropriate types of stones for a construction of a modern rock garden;
  • the recommended range of plants of alpine flora and also the peculiarities of selection of partner-plants with which they blend perfectly;
  • farming secrets and nuances;
  • recommended ground mixtures;
  • methods of reproduction and breeding of alpine plants;
  • tips and advices from the experienced professionals about the peculiarities of care for the rock works.

The peculiarity of of the seminar is that the organizers invited in a capacity of a translator a real professional and collector - Victor Petrovich Ganuschina (from Transcarpathia), the founder of the largest rock work in Ukraine and collection of alpine plants.

This seminar is also unique by the fact that its second part - a practical one, which will be conducted not in the lecture hall, but directly on the territory of the Botanical Garden, where thanks to the skills and efforts of the European experts a new alpine area has appeared

 This seminar and a practical master class will be relevant and useful not only for the professionals, collectors of rare and exotic plants, but also for amateur gardeners. A lot of new and interesting information will get those who want to keep up with the times and professionally create the hand-made objects on the site, natural landscapes that can not be distinguished from those created by Nature - isn't it a real mastery?
